Welcome back everyone! I hope you had a relaxing Sunday. I love my Sundays because it’s a time when I get to spend a little bit of time learning more of God’s word and fellowshipping with dear friends. Our church is simply amazing and the people in it astound me with their faithfulness and kindness! There is someone that I have a growing respect for, though, that I want to take a minute to cheer.
My husband is one of those unsung warriors who often turn away from praise and the spot light but deserves so much credit for where our family is today! His dedication as a soldier and as a father and as a husband amazes me! He’s currently in the middle of a large training operation that he was asked to help with because of his experience and knowledge. He has taken on this task with a sense of duty and honor that had me baffled for the longest time.
I often questioned, “Why do you have to do this?” “Don’t they have someone else that can do it?” His response was always the same, a sense of duty moved him forward in the decision to be the key coordinator for this month long endeavor. The stress he’s under is unimaginable and I’m sure he’s working on less sleep than is healthy for what is required of him, and yet he pushes through it and never loses focus.
He has helped me to grow a new respect for him and I am incredibly thankful that I get to call him my husband! Today school started for our two oldest and he woke up ridiculously early to wish them a good day before they headed off on their new adventure. Then, on his short break, he caught a couple minutes and called again to see how their day went in the afternoon. The simple fact that, in the midst of his crazy life right now, taking care of an entire unit’s training, he found that time to see how school was makes my heart swell with pride and more love than I thought imaginable!
He has led his family faithfully, always trusting that God would care for us and direct us where our next move would take us. He has tried to teach our children respect and kindness and love and has given of himself to us selflessly! He inspires me now to be more faithful in my endeavors and to give it my all. To be a more selfless person, a more patient mother and an unconditionally respectful wife.
God and Jesus are, and will always now be, my number one! However, the man that God joined me to is a winning second and I could not have imagined a better man if I tried. Thank you Lord, for blessing our country with a great military and for all of the men and women who serve in order to protect our freedoms. Most of all, thank you for my husband who is one among them who pulls his strength and courage from you and serves so honorably. Not only his country and his fellow brothers in arms, but also his family, who try to wait so patiently until we can be together again!Tags: courage, duty, faith, Family, God, grace, honor, marriage, Praise, respect, service, strength
